One Nerdy Cupcake

{January 12, 2012}   So far…

So far Tampa has been an interesting experience. P and Z are great, easy to work with and get along with (which I had a pretty good inkling going into it since I’ve been working with them for the past 6 months-ish) but I got sick on the way down here. Unfortunately I passed it to Z as well ( sorry D: ) so the past few couple of days have been less then fun. I still blame the old bitch that sat next to me and coughed all over me during the flight from Pittsburgh to Tampa. I don’t carry enough hand sanitizer to bathe in…especially since we’re only allowed those little 3oz bottles on the flight. But so far, everything is in walking distance. There is a Target next door and a gluten-free market less than a half mile away. The weather has been really nice…warm, 60’s and 70’s. I can’t complain.

I miss Chicago though. I like the cold, and the first real snow of the year. I don’t like the assholes that come with the snow. I hate driving in it. But I think its really pretty, and the cold is much easier to sleep in then the warmth.

I know, it’s weird to say I miss Chicago and I’ve only been gone a few days. Looking at all the Tweets and Pictures and Facebook statuses about the snow made me miss it though. I’m sure tomorrow I’ll kick it by the pool and be like “I’m fine, whatever yo” but I think its a nostalgia thing for the snow. Also, I miss Muay Thai. I don’t have a trainer here, and I feel my moods changing with the lack of working out. I don’t like that. I’m also being weighed down of not knowing where I’m going to be living in a month. I might be back in Chicago to just close things out up there and moving here on a permanent basis. I don’t know yet. That kinda toys on my anxiety. If I am down here for good, I need to find a new trainer and a new dojo. I’m not going to go back to my old body. I should mention I had to give up the fight to come down here…it’s okay, but let it be known I will fight at some point.

In a couple of weeks I’ll be back…and I’ll bitch about the snow like the rest of you.
